KEANU REEVES AND THE 47 RONIN

After "The Last Samurai " back on the big screen the myth of the legendary Japanese samurai. The Universal Pictures is going to produce 47 Ronin, a millionaire-budget blockbuster in 3D, for release in 2012. The protagonist of the film revived Keanu Reeves .

Directed by Carl Erik Rinsch (director of commercials and music videos, "recommended" by Tony and Ridley Scott), the film based on a screenplay co-written by Hossein Amini and Chris Morgan . Already brought to the big screen in 1941 by Japanese filmmaker Kenji Mizoguchi in "Revenge of the 47 ronin ," is set in the eighteenth century, tells the story of a group of samurai fighting to avenge the death of their teacher .

Reeves interpret Kai, an outsider who is allied with Oishi, the leader of 47 Ronin. Together, we will try to take revenge on the evil ruler who killed their master and banned their people. To restore honor to their homeland, the warriors embark on an adventure that takes them to face challenges that would destroy ordinary warriors.

Alongside Keanu Reeves a Hollywood cast with almond eyes: Rinko Kikuchi (Babel already seen in ), Tadanobu Asano (coming in Thor), Hiroyuki Sanada ( Sunshine ) and Ko Shibasaki (The Call ).
Filming will begin next March 14 and will be divided between Budapest and London.
The director has already declared that it intends to inspire and Hokusai Miyazaki, " to bring to the screen beautiful landscapes and great battles and tell the epic story of the Ronin as never seen before," .
