BACK "ONCE UPON A TIME IN AMERICA"

One of the greatest masterpieces of director Sergio Leone , There was Once in America , is about to come back to life thanks to the extended version of the children of Leo, Andrea and Raphael, who have acquired the film rights for Italy by Arnon Milchan .


The gangster movie directed by Sergio Leone in 1984 and starring Robert De Niro and James Woods, considered one of the masterpieces of world cinema, finally finds its final form. Released in theaters in the initial version of 229 minutes, was later rebuilt again by Milchan producer for the U.S. market, because it was deemed too long, in a version of just 135 minutes, with decidedly poor results.

The movie will be reinstated with some scenes originally cut from the film in the editing for the sake of time. The version of 229 minutes, which will be restored by Image laboratory, will add less than forty minutes of deleted scenes, turn never in the original language and dubbed.
The intent of the children the director is to present the most complete version of Sergio Leone films already tried to condense the time in almost four hours of footage.

The initial draft of Once Upon a Time in America fact consisted of two to three hours each film.
The restored version, the extended cut , mount the cut scenes in the original language and the official version will propose Once Upon a Time in America with the original dubbing, long absent from the versions distributed on DVD by Warner Bros.


Andrea Leone and Raffaella hope to resubmit the film was restored in 2012 at the Cannes Film Festival or the Venice Film Festival in Venice, confident in the fans' historical funding of his father, as Martin Scorsese or Quentin Tarantino .
